Hi Tanvir, definitely you can go by horses. I did one day hike arranged by Beach Resort Pahalgam because I stayed at this resort. It is next by the Lidder River and you will love staying here. My day hike is Rs 9,000 which is a price for a single person. It included a professional guide and lunch. We started from Chandanwari at around 8:30 and reached the Lake by around 12:xx . If you are already adventurous you should reach the Lake in 3-4 hours. The first 3 kilometre is steep. I think you should keep your child at the resort. You can reach by horses too but for me it is too risky. If you fall off the horses' backs, down below is a strong current stream. The road up to the Lake is high and in few places it becomes narrow. I will get a heart attack for riding horses.
Q:
How much time will it take to reach the lake by ponny from Chandanwari.
A:
2.5 hours if you don't stop 3.5 hours if you take halts in between I would strongly suggest to go slow and walk for a few km once you cross Pissu ghati to avoid muscle pains.
