Actually, the bus to Woodbine runs from Islington Station on the Bloor Subway Line. It is the 37A (make sure you get the "A" branch) and it will take you right to the front door. As another indicated, it is a long trip from downtown but the buses run frequently, particularly on the weekend. During the fall and spring when it is cooler, I would recommend the Finish Line Bar on the second floor as a great place to watch the races.
