Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you've had:
- Heart problems
- Kidney problems
- High levels of potassium in the blood
- Throat/stomach/intestinal problems (such as blockage, narrowing, ulcers)
- Medication should be taken with plenty of water.
- For capsule, extended release products : Swallow whole. Do not chew or crush.
- For capsule, extended release products : Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this medication.
- For capsule, extended release products : Take this medication with a meal. Read label carefully for how many times to take each day.
- For capsule, extended release products : May sprinkle capsule contents over unheated soft food. Swallow mixture immediately without chewing.
- For liquid products : Do not freeze
- For packet products : Dissolve completely in 4 to 8 oz. of cold water or juice. Drink slowly.
- For packet products : This medication must be dissolved in water as directed before swallowing.
- For packet products : Take with food.
- For tablet, ext release, particles/crystals products : May be broken or allowed to disintegrate in water (stir well) before swallowing. Rinse down with water, but do not chew, all of the remaining particles.
- For tablet, extended release products : Do not chew or crush before swallowing.
