The county borders to the northwest by Leiyang City, to the southwest by Guiyang County, to the south by Suxian District, to the southeast by Zixing City, to the northeast by Anren County. Yongxing County covers 1,979 km², as of 2015, It had a registered population of 696,000 and a resident population of 542,800. The county has 11 towns and four townships under its jurisdiction, the county seat is Bianjiang Town.
