I believe there is a courtyard by Marriott and a Residece Inn Marriott in Foggy Bottom which is also close to George WASHINGTON university. If you are visiting Washington DC for other sightseeing as well you may want to stay at a more central location to the Mall or at a hotel close to a subway station.

Yes, I believe that is the only way that tickets can be arranged. There may be other methods but that is probably the easiest process.
