First Story exists to strengthen communities and break the cycle of multigenerational poverty by allowing underserved populations the opportunity to build wealth and find stability through homeownership. The nonprofit collaborates with builder Hayden Homes to provide move-in-ready homes to qualified families. Those homes are then sold through a zero-interest, zero-down, 30-year home loan from First Story. For more than 20 years, First Story has supported other community partners through its giving grant program. To date nearly 700 charities that provide shelter, food, and advocacy services to families in crisis have received more than $2M from First Story.
