Northern Gaza is experiencing a “full-blown famine” which is rapidly spreading across the strip after almost seven months of war, the executive director of the World Food Programme has said.

Cindy McCain, the director of the World Food Program, said starvation is entrenched in northern Gaza and is “moving its way south.”

A top UN official has said that the north of Gaza has now tipped into “full blown famine” that is heading toward the south, as the war nears the seven month mark,

"Full-blown famine" is present in the northern part of Gaza and is spreading south, Cindy McCain, the executive director of the World Food Programme, said.
