Last year, when the Ottawa Senators had their exit interviews and met with the media, defenceman Thomas Chabot told reporters his wrist wasn't in good shape. Chabot said he had a torn ligament and a cracked bone in his right wrist and rehabbing that would be the main focus of his offseason training.

Thomas Chabot will likely spend at least part of his off-season recovering from surgery. The Ottawa Senators’ top defenceman told reporters during his exit interview 48 hours after the season ended on April 16 that going under the knife this spring hadn’t been ruled out after an injury-filled season and there’s a strong possibility that will happen in the coming weeks.

Ottawa has spent the last month debating the necessity of this surgery, following the player's early exit in the team’s season-finale with the injury.
