Several of the Dow's blue chip constituents are now deeply discounted, but that doesn't necessarily make them worth owning.

Dow Jones futures will open Sunday evening, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway reported strong earnings and cash growth with the billionaire investor expecting further increases during the company's annual shareholder meeting.

Enthusiasm for growth stocks already pushed the Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 indexes more than 6% higher since the start of 2024. Unfortunately, the Dow Jones Industrial Average hasn't kept pace with its larger cousins.

NASDAQ rallied, boosted by the strong performance of Apple stock. Apple is up by 6.9% as traders reacted to the company’s earnings report. Apple revealed that iPhone sales dropped but announced a $110 billion share buyback plan, which served as the key bullish catalyst for the stock.
