The discovery of an empty kayak has Florida officials worried about a 77-year-old man in the Gulf of Mexico. A witness called the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday, May 1, to report “an abandoned” kayak was seen floating 3 miles off Bonita Beach, officials said.

Investigators say the man, who they did not publicly identify, launched his kayak from Upper Merion Boathouse Monday morning and never returned. They later found that the missing man had posted a selfie on social media around 12:40 p.

The search continues for a man who went missing while fishing and kayaking in the Schuylkill River in Upper Merion Township, Pennsylvania.

Police were searching for a person who disappeared while boating on the Schuylkill River near Upper Merion on Tuesday evening, April 30. Officials said the search was centered around the Upper Merion Boathouse off of Water Street.
