After slamming the Switch emulator Yuzu with a $2.4 million lawsuit that caused it to shut down, Nintendo is now taking aim at its copies. The gaming giant submitted a total of 8,535 takedown notices for Yuzu emulator forks on GitHub, as spotted earlier by TorrentFreak and PCGamer.

Github recently removed 8,535 Yuzu-related repositories in response to a Nintendo takedown request, but it's unclear if the console manufacturer will be able to wipe it off the map.

Nintendo continues to sweep the internet for Yuzu emulator files and spinoffs after its creators agreed to shut down and pay the game publisher $2.4 million.

The Nintendo Switch offers a wealth of different games ranging from hot new releases to beloved classics. A new classic, which was extremely hard to find a legal copy of, could be coming to the platform.
