Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) slammed the Biden administration’s proposal to incorporate Air National Guard Service members into the Space Force, arguing the move is a “threat” to the Texas National Guard.

Gov. Ron DeSantis objected to a proposal that would transfer a Florida Air National Guard squadron to the U.S. Space Force.

Only two state governors, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, did not sign on to the letter.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee signed on to a letter Monday alongside 47 other state governors, as well as five territories and commonwealths, opposing the Biden administration’s move to incorporate Air National Guard service members into the Space Force.
