MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, MI -- A first-round of water testing in Muskegon Heights showed no bacteria in the city’s water system, but results from a second-round are still needed before a boil-water advisory is lifted.

The city of Muskegon Heights said its water tested negative for bacteria after a drop in water system pressure prompted a boil advisory.

The city has already submitted their second round of samples which are due back sometime Saturday. The boil water advisory remains in effect.

Oconee County Water Resources says the boil water advisory put in place Thursday comes on the heels of a Wednesday water main break at Bear Creek Reservoir. Water service that was disrupted for the much of the County was restored mid-morning Thursday. Officials in Watkinsville say the boil water advisory is effect until water testing is completed.
