Céline Dion recently opened up about her wedding to René Angélil in Vogue, recounting how an elaborate tiara adorned with 2,000 Swarovski crystals, meant to symbolize beauty, ended up causing significant discomfort during her otherwise unforgettable ceremony.

While she certainly had a sense of humor about it, Dion said the injury was “so huge” she went cross-eyed. The newlywed ultimately decided to seek medical attention and forgo the traditional post-wedding leisure, and said she “had to be on antibiotics for about three weeks.”

In a video with Vogue France this week detailing some of her most iconic looks throughout her storied career, the 54-year-old “My Heart Will Go On” singer shared that the tiara had to be sewn to her hair to keep it firmly in place, and she had to practice walking while wearing it to make sure she could hold up its weight.
