DETROIT – A 4-year-old boy is dead after a three-car crash in which his mother is the at-fault driver and is suspected of having been intoxicated, police said. It happened around 1:10 p.m. Monday on northbound I-75 near Piquette Avenue. Dispatchers received reports of a three-car crash in which a child was possibly hit.

Troopers at about 1:10 p.m. Monday received calls about a crash on northbound I-75 and Piquette reporting three vehicles were involved and that a child had possibly been hit, officials said. Police arrived at the scene of the crash and found the 4-year-old on the ground and unresponsive.
