S py.pet, a website that offered billions of Discord chat logs for sale, has been taken offline by the chat app provider. Discord accounts associated with the service are also believed to have been banned from the service. In confirming the news, Discord itself said that the site and the database it was selling broke its terms of service.

Discord recently announced it took down Spy.pet, a data harvesting website that scraped messages from 620 million Discord users from more than 14,000 servers.

As reported by The Register, the internet-scraping company Spy.pet has been actively harvesting data from Discord since November of last year. In the time since, it has collected over four billion messages and as of right now, Spy.pet is tracking 14,000 Discord servers and keeping tabs on more than 620 million users.

A week after a report revealed a site called Spy.pet that claimed to have scraped billions of public messages posted to Discord and was offering them for sale, Discord has banned multiple accounts connected to the site, which has now gone offline.

In a statement to 404 Media, a Discord spokesperson said that scraping its services and self-botting are violations of the company’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. As a result, Discord has banned the accounts and is considering appropriate legal action.

Last week the online community got the details in a 404 Media exposé that the Spy Pet site has been orchestrating a massive data mining operation. Discord, the popular communication platform, with nearly 620 million users was the victim of the digital theft.

A third-party surveillance tool tracked millions of Discord users across servers. Discord dismantles the site, but SpyPet's admin promises the tool will make a comeback.
