An endangered sawfish rescued last month in the Florida Keys after it was spotted acting erratically and swimming in circles has died as wildlife officials continue to search for what is causing fish to become distressed.

The sawfish was inflicted with the same illness that is causing other fish to exhibit a strange spinning behavior.

Biologists drove it on a roughly 7-hour journey to Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium about a week later, where it remained until it died this week.
