Law Roach and Zendaya have a special kind of professional relationship. The stylist sat down with The New York Times to discuss his plans a little after a year after he announced he was retiring from celebrity styling.

This year, Zendaya is a co-chair of the Met Gala alongside Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny, and Jennifer Lopez. The event takes place Monday, May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

When it comes to Zendaya's Met Gala dress fitting, the 27-year-old actor is cutting it pretty close to the big night—so close, in fact, that her longtime stylist Law Roach says her dress hasn't even been made yet.

Last March, Law Roach seemed to be at the peak of his career as a celebrity stylist. He had won the first stylist of the year award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and was working with Zendaya, Celine Dion, Anya Taylor-Joy and Anne Hathaway, among others. Then, out of the blue, he announced on Instagram that he was quitting.

Zendaya and Roach, who have collaborated for over a decade, took the Met for a dramatic ride, with a custom light-up Tommy Hilfiger gown, a pumpkin carriage purse and smoke billowing out from Roach's wand. The spectacle nailed the camp theme and is one of the Met's most iconic looks.
