According to police, the suspects fled west on Broadway into the Fulton Street subway station after the incident. NYPD data shows homicides are statistically rare in its 1st Precinct, where the stabbings happened. So far this year, there were three murders in the precinct through Dec. 1, compared to zero in the same period last year.

Tuesday morning, police were still searching for three people they say were behind the incident that left 17-year-old Yeremi Colino dead and an 18-year-old injured. The injured man is expected to recover.

Police have released video and photos of the three men they say stabbed a migrant teen to death and wounded another in Lower Manhattan.

The stabbings happened after the suspects asked the victims whether they spoke English, according to the NYPD.
