About two dozen states sued the Trump administration Tuesday over the dismantling of AmeriCorps, the 30-year-old federal agency for volunteer service, and over the cancellation of hundreds of millions of dollars in grant funding for state and community projects across the U.S.

Nearly two dozen states have sued the Trump administration over large cuts at AmeriCorps, a volunteer service agency. The lawsuit was led by Democratic state officials who are also suing the administration over canceling millions in grant funding.

A coalition of 20 state Democratic attorneys general filed two federal lawsuits on Tuesday, claiming that the Trump administration is threatening to withhold billions of dollars in transportation and disaster-relief funds.
