Boeing workers in the Seattle area, with machinist’s union IAM, are now in their fifth week of striking for higher wages, reinstatement of their pensions, and protections against forced overtime. This strike is a massive industrial shutdown by workers against the bosses and executives.

Boeing is set to issue layoff notices to thousands of employees as it grapples with a deepening crisis marked by prolonged strikes and reduced production. Acting U.S. Labor Secretary Julie Su has intervened,
