Washington — The House passed a bipartisan bill Monday that makes it a federal crime to post real and fake sexually explicit imagery online of a person without their consent, sending the legislation that was backed by first lady Melania Trump to the president's desk.

“Today, through the Take It Down Act, we affirm that the well-being of our children is central to the future of our families and America,” Melania Trump said during the ceremony. She also signed the executive order in a symbolic gesture. The bill passed the House 409–2 in April after unanimously clearing the Senate in February.
