Hovanic has worked for the Department of Defense Education Activity — which operates schools on U.S. military bases worldwide — for nearly three decades and has served as chief of staff for DOD schools in the U.S. for the last 13 years, the military publication Stars and Stripes reported.

Police in Coweta County, Georgia, arrested a top Department of Defense administrator as part of a human trafficking sting and released video of him allegedly requesting paid sex from an undercover agent.

A senior Pentagon official who oversaw federally operated school systems in the Americas has been arrested in a Georgia human-trafficking sting.

Video released by the Coweta County sheriff’s Office on Monday shows Stephen Hovanic and an undercover deputy in a motel on November 15.

An undercover human trafficking operation has resulted in the arrest of 26 individuals, among them Stephen Hovanic.

Stephen Hovanic, 64, was arrested last Wednesday and charged with pandering. Twenty-five other people were arrested and face charges including prostitution, pandering, pimping and drug charges. Hovanic has been the Chief of Staff for the DoDEA Americas since 2010.
