Two Delta airplanes reportedly collided on the airport runway in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday morning.

"While Delta Air Lines Flight 295 was taxiing for departure at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, its wingtip struck the tail of Endeavor Air Flight 5526. The Delta Airbus A350 was headed to Tokyo. The Endeavor Bombardier CRJ900 was headed to Lafayette, Louisiana," the FAA said in a statement.

Two Delta Air Lines planes collided on a taxiway at Atlanta's airport Tuesday morning, with a larger plane knocking over the tail of a smaller regional jet. No injuries were reported and Delta said passengers were rebooked on other flights that departed Tuesday afternoon.

A jetliner hit a smaller commuter jet and knocked off its tail. There were no injuries, but the commuter jet pilot did say, 'We'll need a tow.'

Both planes were preparing to take off with a total of 277 passengers when they came in contact on the airport's taxiway.
