The European Union is delaying until mid-April its retaliatory trade action over the Trump administration’s increase in tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports.

EU countermeasures to U.S. tariffs announced on March 12, are likely to take effect in mid-April, European Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic said on Thursday.

In his first term, Trump also targeted the alcohol industry. A series of tit-for-tat tariffs hit alcohol products in the U.S. and the EU. The Biden administration suspended those tariffs, but now the industry is once again in the crosshairs. The industry has still been recovering from that first tariff spat.
