The Oscar-nominated French actor has been accused of misconduct by more than 20 women, but so far only the sexual assault case has proceeded to court.

A court in Paris on Tuesday found French actor Gérard Depardieu guilty of sexually assaulting two women on a film set in 2021 and handed him an 18-month suspended prison sentence.

The 76-year-old actor was found guilty by the Paris Criminal Court of two sexual assaults during the filming of Jean Becker's movie Les Volets Verts in 2021. His lawyer, Jérémie Assous, has announced that Depardieu will appeal the decision.
