The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice for parts of north, west and mid Wales from 00:15 GMT on Thursday until 11:00. A second yellow weather warning for ice is in place from 00:15 until 10:30 covering parts of south Wales as well as southern England.

Bands of lake effect snow pounding the Tug Hill plateau today are expected to drift south late this afternoon, bringing 3 to 7 inches of snow to much of Central New York through Thursday. More than 3 feet of snow could fall in the traditional lake effect bull’s eye of Tug Hill.
