Warnings issued across Gulf Coast as ‘historic’ storm pummels area with ice and snow - Thousands of flights were delayed or canceled as frigid winter weather bore down across Texas and southern states

A rare winter storm charging through Texas and the northern Gulf Coast on Tuesday has closed highways and airports and prompted the first blizzard warning for southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana.

So far, Winter Storm Enzo has dropped nearly 2 inches of snow on Lake Charles, Louisiana. One resident shared video to X of the snow blanketing her backyard and her generator before dawn. All of Louisiana’s southern parishes declared a state of emergency ahead of the storm’s arrival.
