Palestinians in northern Gaza are describing heavy Israeli bombardment in the hours after airstrikes killed at least 22 people.

Israeli airstrikes that hit a mosque and a school have killed at least 24 people and injured 93 on Sunday. The targeted mosque and school were a shelter for displaced people in the Gaza Strip, reported Reuters.

Palestinian medical officials say an Israeli strike on the central Gaza Strip has killed a family of eight. A further seven people were wounded. In southern Lebanon, meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes destroyed a century-old market.
