At least 22 people were killed and 117 injured in Israeli strikes this evening in Beirut, the Lebanese health ministry said. A senior Hezbollah official, Wafiq Safa, survived the attack, according to a source in the militant group.

An Israeli strike hit a residential building in Damascus on Tuesday evening and killed seven, Syria's state-run SANA news agency reported.

Israel said it mobilized its first reserve division to operate in southwestern Lebanon. Hezbollah officials pledged to keep fighting.
