Federal immigration agents detained Rumeysa Ozturk, a graduate student from Turkey, on the street near her home in Massachusetts.

Rümeysa Öztürk, a PhD student at Tufts, has been held for about six weeks in Louisiana. She says conditions there significantly worsened her asthma, and that the government violated her constitutional rights.

One day after a panel of judges grilled a government attorney over their attempt to keep a Tufts University grad student detained in Louisiana, the judges ordered that the student be returned to New England.
