With the State Fair of Texas beginning in Dallas in eight days, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s attempts to block the fair’s new gun policy have been denied by a Dallas County district judge.

On Thursday, a Dallas County District Court struck down Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's request to temporarily block the State Fair of Texas’ new policy banning all firearms from its fairgrounds.

Attorney General Ken Paxton, who sued over the gun ban, will likely seek to overturn the Dallas judge's order in the 15th Court of Appeals.

The dispute boils down to whether the fair is subject to the same restrictions around prohibiting guns as the city.
