The Columbia University graduate student and lawful permanent resident who has been in immigration custody since March, got to hold his newborn for the first time Thursday at the Louisiana detention center where he is being held,

Ahead of a court hearing, the Columbia University activist was able to meet and hold his newborn son for the first time.

The activist, who has been detained in Louisiana for two months, was allowed to meet privately with his wife and child. He is fighting deportation.
