Just after 9 a.m., the PGA Championship announced that the third round will begin with players in trios and on split tees, starting on either Hole 1 or 10. The first tee time is slated for 11:43 a.m. The first two rounds of the PGA Championship were also in groups of three and on split tees.
Earlier in the week heavy rains caused a number of mud balls in the first round of the PGA Championship for golfers like Scottie Scheffler who was less than pleased with one particular mud ball that led to a double bogey.
Professional golfer Shaun Micheel was delayed at the PGA Championship due to a snake being in the middle of the fairway.

Weather has played a significant role in the 2025 PGA Championship so far this week. It all started when heavy rains hampered or outright ruined some practice rounds and left the grounds with standing water through the first round.
Play was set to begin at 8:15 a.m. ET, with Max Greyserman and Sam Burns leading the way off No. 1 tee. The next twosome was the power pairing of Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele, and groups would continue going off in 10-minute intervals until 2:45 p.m. with the final pairing of Jhonattan Vegas and Matthieu Pavon.
