McIlroy won the Wells Fargo Championship, the normal PGA Tour stop at Quail Hollow, four times in his career. Although McIlroy has slightly longer odds than Scottie Scheffler to win the Wanamaker Trophy, he has to be viewed as the favorite.

Behind Scheffler in the odds are: McIlroy (4.5-1), DeChambeau (14-1), Jon Rahm (16-1), reigning PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele (18-1) then Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg, who both have 20-to-1 odds.

The PGA Championship may not have the gravitas of the other three majors, but lately it has produced banger after banger.
