A federal judge in New York says the sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs will proceed as scheduled in early May despite his lawyer's claims that they need an extra two months to prepare.

A federal judge in New York on Friday denied a request to delay the sex-trafficking trial for Sean “Diddy” Combs by two months after his attorneys sought more time to prepare their defense.

The trial should remain on schedule after the defense suggested that the final 12 jurors and six alternates could ask to be excused after spending a weekend contemplating a role in a major celebrity's fate.
