In Texas, health officials have confirmed 718 total cases throughout the state that’s only one more case since the last update given on Tuesday, May 13. The U.S. surpassed 1,000 measles cases on May 16, according to the Associated Press.

Since late January, 718 measles cases connected to an outbreak in West Texas have been confirmed by state health officials.

Texas health officials reported eight new measles cases on Tuesday, with the outbreak spreading to three new counties. The Texas Department of State Health Services has reported 717 measles cases amid the largest outbreak in the United States in at least 25 years.
