House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) is asking FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate President Donald Trump‘s nominee for U.S. attorney in D.C., Ed Martin, after he failed to disclose more than 150 Russian media appearances.

U.S. President Donald Trump's candidate for the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, Ed Martin, appeared more than 150 times on Russian state-run propaganda outlets RT and Sputnik between 2016 and 2024,

The report describes one instance in 2017 when Martin was on RT denying Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad’s responsibility for using chemical weapons against civilians. Hours later, Trump ordered airstrikes on Syrian facilities in retaliation for the attack that killed 90 people.
