"Today, WFP delivered its last remaining food stocks to hot meals kitchens," it warned. "These kitchens are expected to fully run out of food in the coming days."

"We must not reach a situation of famine, both from a practical and a diplomatic standpoint," Benjamin Netanyahu stressed in a video in response to criticism of the move in Israel.

“If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response,” the statement said.

Humanitarian organizations have warned that Israel's systematic starvation policy against more than two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip could result in the deaths of around 14,000 infants over the next two days unless urgent and adequate food aid is delivered.
