New York City's $9 congestion pricing fee for people driving in certain parts of the city will remain, passing a federal deadline Sunday to end it.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned Gov. Kathy Hochul "New York risks serious consequences" unless it stops collecting congestion pricing tolls.

The U.S. Department of Transportation initially told New York to turn off its congestion pricing cameras by March 21, but then granted the state an extension, setting the new deadline for Sunday, April 20.
