Wholesale prices in the US increased a tad more slowly than anticipated last month, but a bit more quickly than expected at the core level.

After falling to the lowest level since December 2021, on Tuesday, oil recorded its first weekly gain in a month, buoyed by Hurricane Francine, which disrupted production in the Gulf of Mexico. Brent crude rose above $72 per barrel,
