The Russian military launched a major missile and drone attack on Ukraine early Thursday, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses without electrical power.

Russia launched 50 Shahed strike drones and other types of UAVs from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Oryol, and Millerovo. Additionally, the aggressor state struck Ukraine with a Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missile from the airspace over Kursk Oblast.

Ukrainian authorities said at least 23 people were injured and 41 buildings damaged by a Russian missile strike in the northeastern city of Kharkiv.
