Russian authorities closed the Kerch Bridge, also known as the Crimean Bridge, in the early hours of Tuesday, and Russian Telegram channel Astra reported a series of explosions around the city of Kerch. The Kerch Bridge connects Crimea with mainland Russia, and has been a previous target of Ukrainian drone strikes, including with naval drones.

Ukraine launched a drone attack on the Crimean Peninsula as Russia escalated its attack against Avdiivka, a strategically important city in eastern Ukraine that has been mostly destroyed. KYIV, Ukrain

The ISW said Ukraine's air defense coverage "is reportedly incentivizing Russian forces to rely more heavily on remote strikes."

Explosions have been heard in the east of Russian-occupied Crimea on early 5 December. Two UAVs have likely targeted an oil depot in the city of Feodosiia but have been shot down. Source: Baza, a Russian Telegram channel;

The drones were reportedly launched from Russia's Kursk Oblast and from Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia's Krasnodar Krai. Russian forces also attacked with six S-300 missiles, targeting civilian targets in Donetsk and Kherson oblasts,

Russia attacked an infrastructure facility in Lviv Oblast with three drones in an overnight attack, Lviv regional governor Maksym Kozytsky reported on Telegram on Dec. 5.
