Cooper Evolution Winter 235/75-15 XL 109T Studdable Winter/Snow Tire The Evolution Winter is Cooper's Studdable Winter / Snow tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, crossovers and SUVs looking for sure-footed performance and traditional wintertime traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads. Evolution Winter tires meet the tire industry's severe snow service rating and earns the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. The winter-focused compound of the Evolution Winter is molded into a studdable, directional pattern to aid acceleration and braking in harsh winter conditions. The wide, rigid tread blocks that make up the center rib enhance dry-road stability and aid steering response, while strong outboard shoulders provide lateral grip. Deep starting tread depths, wide circumferential grooves and open notches in the shoulders help evacuate standing water and slush, while the high-density, multi-angle siping creates the biting edges needed for traction in wet, snowy and icy conditions. The internal construction of the Evolution Winter consists of a one-ply polyester casing. The high ply turn up results in a two-ply sidewall, aiding durability and impact resistance. Two wide, steel belts support the tread area, and a single-ply, nylon reinforcement maintains high-speed uniformity and aids handling response. Due to the traction capabilities of the Evolution Winter, Cooper Tire recommends using Evolution Winter tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance. Molded to accept optional TSMI #12 silver-colored metallic winter studs.
