Uses Admelog is a type of insulin that acts rapidly - within 10 to 30 minutes. It is used to lower blood sugar levels in people who have Type 1 (insulin dependent) or improve glycemic control in people who have Type 2 (non-insulin dependent) Diabetes. Admelog is available as a subcutaneous solution in vials or pen-injectors. Cautions Hypoglycemia commonly occurs with the use of insulins like Admelog, hyperglycemia may also occur with insulins like Admelog. Prolonged hypoglycemia may result in convulsions, loss of consciousness, brain damage, or death. Infections or stress may alter your dosage needs of Admelog. How to use Admelog is injected just under the skin (subcutaneously) , it may also be introduced into the body via pump or IV. The dose is individualized based on patient age, weight, and route of administration. Possible side effects Hypoglycemia, injection site reactions, stomach pain, nausea, and headache common side effects seen with Admelog use. Please contact your prescriber if you experience any of these side effects , or any other unusual physical symptoms. Missed dose Consult with your healthcare provider in devising a strategy to deal with missed doses or missed meals.
