Joe Pickett is a Wyoming game warden up against familiar forces, such as hunters, would-be backwoodsmen, and corrupt officials. With a tenuous hold on his job and a family to support, he must protect his district and his family. The scenery and wildlife are great, and the characters are terrific. CJ Box's writing is excellent, and the story is full of suspense and action.
