The Castle Wall® Blue Holly is a top-rated hardy holly bush that was created for hedging. It is fast-growing, adding up to 2 feet a year, and it is bushy right to the ground. Typically growing 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide, it can grow twice that in ideal conditions. It has small leaves packed tightly around the stems, and they have softer spines, so it isnt a garden hazard. The dark-green leaves hold well in winter, even in cold zones. Use it for hedges and trimmed specimens, or for an upright untrimmed bush. It is a male plant, ideal for pollinating other blue hollies and giving big crops of berries. - Ideal choice for cooler zones - Excellent choice for holly hedges - Fast-growing and dense right to the ground - Good resistance to winter injury - Perfect pollinator for other blue holly varieties The Castle Wall® Blue Holly is hardy in zones 5, 6 and 7, ideal for colder climates. It grows in most well-drained soils, preferring richer, moist soils, but with good resistance to ordinary summer dryness once established. It is generally free of significant pests or diseases, grows vigorously and can be trimmed from late spring to late summer, as needed.
