It's hand-finished in layers for exceptional richness and sealed with a protective, child-safe lacquer. And with the Step-Up Captain's Bed, they'll have a comfortable (and multi-tasking) space for sleeping and storing all their favorite things. HOW IT IS CONSTRUCTED Crafted from solid poplar wood, beech wood, pine wood, veneers and MDF. Frame-and-panel construction adds strength and structural integrity you can trust. Kiln-dried wood helps prevent warping, splitting, cracking and developing mildew. The use of veneers results in high-quality furniture with flawless surfaces and consistent color tones. Mattress platform is made of 100% solid pine wood in slat-roll for extra strength; designed for use with or without a box spring. Mattress and box spring are sold separately. Finished by hand in child-safe, water-based paint that provides durability, depth of color and richness to each piece of furniture. GREENGUARD Gold Certified to contribute to healthier indoor air, keeping you and your family safer. DETAILS THAT MATTER Features side staircase, 3 spacious drawers, 3 open shelves and 6 cubbies (under stairs) for extra storage. Side staircase and drawers are fixed and cannot be moved.
