Uses Fenofibrate belongs to the class of medicine known as antilipemic agents. Fenofibrate is used along with a proper diet to help to treat high cholesterol and high triglyceride levels. This medication works by increasing the activity of the enzyme found in your body called lipoprotein lipase which is responsible for breaking down fats in the blood. Cautions Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any of the ingredients found in Fenofibrate formulation, or if you have any other allergies. Fenofibrate should not be taken if you have liver disease, gallbladder disease, or severe kidney disease. Provide your doctor your complete medical history before using this medication. How to use Fenofibrate is available as tablet and capsule formulations. This medication is for oral use only. Use this medication as directed by your physician and follow the instructions on the manufacturer's packaging. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Pick a time or times of the day that is easiest for you to remember your medications, and take your pills at these same times each day.
