For riders who want a capable trail bike with some XC flavor, it doesn't get much better than the Joplin Carbon CC X01 Eagle AXS Reserve Mountain Bike. With 120mm of rear travel, the Joplin has a spritely feel on the climbs and plenty of pop on the down, plus it borrows the lower-link VPP suspension platform from Juliana's trail bikes for smooth descending traction. 29in wheels front and rear eat up square-edge hits when we're out on backcountry trail rides, plus they roll quickly for post-work XC loops. Juliana found the perfect balance on the Joplin's head tube angle at 65. 5-degrees (low position), providing descending stability to align with modern trends, yet retaining maneuverability for tight terrain in remote locations. We also love the Glovebox storage system which lets us store tools, nutrition, and even a layer in the bike's downtube for extra supplies on long rides. This top-tier build utilizes the Carbon CC frame construction from Juliana which delivers industry-leading durability along with an impressively low weight. We're big fans of the X01 Eagle AXS electronic shifting components from SRAM for its low-maintenance design and instant shifts for last-minute gear changes. Reserve 30 SL carbon wheels accelerate quickly and provide incredible stiffness and durability for a premium ride feel. SRAM's G2 RSC brakes strike the perfect balance between weight and power, providing consistent braking over long descents without any unnecessary weight.
